With increase in passion, area of practise must also be enhanced. Cricket is played in cricket stadiums. There are many well-known cricket stadiums. Some are historical too. We have mentioned well-known and historical cricket grounds of England in our articles. In this article we are going to mention about Melbourne Cricket Ground which is both, the historical and well-known.

Melbourne is a well known city of Australia. It is famous in many things. MCG or Melbourne Cricket Ground is one of them. MCG ( Melbourne Cricket Ground ) is one of the oldest cricket ground in the world. As we have mentioned in our articles that the game of cricket was started by England with the collaboration of Australia. So Australia can also be said as pioneer of Cricket.

Cricket history started from this country and MCG ( Melbourne Cricket Ground ) is the one of oldest cricket grounds in Australia. 

When cricket started these 2 teams were the rivals of each other. The one of the first tournaments named as "Ashes" was started by them an this history is still going. Every year "Ashes" took place. Firstly it was in England and the next time Australia had to organize it. So cricket stadiums were necessary. Then Australia built number of grounds and MCG ( Melbourne Cricket Ground ) was one of them.

History:

MCG ( Melbourne Cricket Ground ) was not the cricket stadium firstly. There were number of games played in it. In 1854, with the invention of Test Cricket, this stadium was converted into Cricket Stadium. It was necessary because Australia has to organize some event and there was no cricket ground at that time. So this ground was converted into a cricket stadium. 

Capacity:

MCG ( Melbourne Cricket Ground ) is the biggest cricket ground in the world. This stadium is big in it's practise area as well as the capacity to intake the spectators. There is no cricket ground in the world which is able to manage over 1 lac persons at a time.

MCG ( Melbourne Cricket Ground ) once was able to manage 1.3 lac spectators. But due to some serious issues this number is now lessened, but still MCG ( Melbourne Cricket Ground ) is the biggest stadium and can manage 100,024 spectators in it.

Uses:

MCG ( Melbourne Cricket Ground ) is not only used to play Cricket, but there are also several other uses of it. 

This ground has contributed a large role in the military practise. Other than that a number of charity and fund raisers held in this ground. Due to its large number of area and capacity to manage people it is often use for concerts. 

Recently "The National Sports Museum" held a big function in MCG ( Melbourne Cricket Ground ). This festival was about all sports being played in Australia. MCG ( Melbourne Cricket Ground ) was used for it. There were over 3500 different item to show and the festival gone all well.

People from all across the globe wish to visit MCG ( Melbourne Cricket Ground ). This stadium is blessed to have such a huge number of lovers. The reasons are quiet obvious. Firstly it has historical background. Other reasons include its beauty. The management team deserves a big wow. They have managed MCG ( Melbourne Cricket Ground )  so well that every person who visit Australia has a wish to visit MCG ( Melbourne Cricket Ground ) once even if one is cricket lover or not.
