Sports Land:

United Kingdom is said to be the Land of Sports because of the reason that almost all kind of sports are being played here.

On the eastern shore of Europe, there located The United Kingdom. In this article we will discuss about some major sports being played in UK.

Sports play an important part in the culture of UK. There are so many sports that are associated with UK. These sports include team games, pair games and individual games.

United Kingdom is the only country which is so versatile in sports. One can find every kind of sports and place to practise. 

Best Place to Pursue Sports Talent:

United Kingdom is one of the best place to pursue the talent of sports. Boys and Girls from all over the world travel to UK to practise their favorite sports.

The reason due to which UK is said to be Best place for sports is that, one can easily find any game or sport of his/her own will. Everyone has an open hand to choose whatever he/she likes.

Not only this, but UK has every facility for the players to practise their favorite sports.

United Kingdom has a large number of  stadiums, playgrounds and places where players can play games.

There is a variety of indoor and outdoor stadiums in UK.

Major Games: 

As we have mentioned earlier that UK provides a facility to play every kind of game. But some games are major. These are the games which are played in large number and liked by the natives. 

These games must be divided in to team games and individual games.

Team Games:-

There are many team games which are being played in England. Here we will only mention some of the major games. These are the games which are very popular in UK and for which UK is popular for.

FOOTBALL:

Football is very common and popular sports in the entire world. Some countries have their names associated with football. Though England do not have much progress in the field of football or England is not the country whose name is associated with football.

The reason for mentioning Football on the first place is only the popularity of football.

Football is one of the favorite game in UK. It is liked by many people there. England Football team also has a name in the Football world. Number of people travel to England to practise this game.

This year in FIFA world cup, Team England played brilliantly well. 

This was one of the extraordinary performance by England Team. 

Cricket: 

"Cricket" is the word that is associated with England. The main reason is that England is the country who started this game with the collaboration of Australia.

Cricket is supposed to be the birth of England. Early Cricket history is full of England legends names.

We are here sadly stating that in the present age England Cricket is not what it was in the start. But England cricket board is taking serious steps to improve the performance of England Cricket.

If we talk about practise areas or the stadiums, this country is the king of Cricket Stadiums. Some of the historical stadiums are located in this country.

We'd surely like to mention some names: LORDS is one of the oldest stadium of cricket history , This historical stadium is located in England.

LEEDS is another important and historical stadium where the Cricket is played for a long period of time is is still being played.

Individual Games: 

Other than Team games England also have a name in Individual games. Everytime in olympics England has it's name in top positions because of individual sports. These sports are being practised on a high scale in UK. Some of the major individual sports are Swimming, Squash, Tennis, Badminton  etc.
